A PEDIGREE dog makes THE difference

Labrador for family

The Labrador Retrievers were originally bred as hunting dogs and it is in their nature to retrieve the hunter's prey in flawless condition.  This is just one example of their gentle nature and it is just one of the many reasons why people choose this breed as family pets.

Many hunters prefer to have Labradors when duck hunting not only for the excellent retrieving capabilities but also as Labradors are natural swimmers; they are completely comfortable in the water.

The Labrador has been a domestic pet for generations.  He loves his human family wants to please them and when you are coming home, he will greet you all with love and affection.   Nothing is more pleasing to him than being with you, whether he is sitting at your feet, or having his ears rubbed, or going for a car ride, he will do so with a smile and an enthusiast wag of his tail.

As Labradors are big dogs, their exercise routine needs to be appropriate for their age and size.  During the first 12 months, the growth of your puppy will be rapid and care should be taken not to over exercise during those early stages.   The general advice we give is one-minute walk per week of the age of the puppy, and to maintain short regular walks to avoid over tiring.

In the hot summer here in Hong Kong, it is essential for your dogs health and well being, to exercise during the cooler times of the day and that the walk is kept short to avoid the risk of a heat stroke.  However, if you suspect that he has overheated, we recommend that you bring him to an air-conditioned room and place cold wet towels on his belly and encourage him to drink plenty of water.  If you have any concerns, a visit to your vet will be the next step.
